First draft of “The Arcane Artist” complete

Here’s what a stack of used plot cards looks like after finishing writing the first draft of “The Arcane Artist (Chronicles of Anna Atticus Stone, book 2)”. Book clocked in at 235,000 words prior to the start of editing.

The book is split between a 19-year-old Anna attending her last year at the academy, and the grand adventure she goes on after graduating, following in the footsteps of her ancestor, Atrius Arinthian . . .

The book is on schedule to launch in December, and will be my eleventh published book. For now, the book enters the editing stage.

Prodigy of Thunder (Chronicles of Anna Atticus Stone, book 1) released!

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09MY84S3W

A family of warlocks . . . torn by an ancient secret.

Fourteen-year-old Anna Atticus Stone is a prodigy.
A warlock prodigy.

The youngest to ever wield lightning, Anna burns with ambition, dreaming of attending the prestigious Academy of Arcane Arts.

But her life’s a mess.

She’s friendless, her father barely lets her out of the house, and her older sister keeps knocking her teeth out.

And her parents fight. Constantly. Mostly over her father illegally training the sisters in the old way, as it’s forbidden to learn so far ahead.

Now Anna readies to take the academy entrance trials. A pass will mean friends, warlock tournaments, and exploring a thousand-year-old academy. Typical teenage warlock stuff.

Except her sister is bent on sabotaging her. And there’s a reason for that sabotage—and for the illegal training . . . their father carries a dangerous secret.

A secret for only one daughter.

And Anna is about to find out what her sister is willing to do to claim it.

Personal thoughts from the author:

The day has finally come! After a long year of writing and editing Anna’s story, Prodigy of Thunder has launched. I cannot wait for you to experience the beginning of her journey. You have been requesting her story ever since reading about her in Arcane (The Arinthian Line, book 1). It gives me great honor to deliver on that request.

It was a tricky endeavor for me to write a book about an already established character. For that challenge, I searched deep into who Anna was whilst asking myself what sorts of things would she have gone through as a child and as a teenager. Writing the answers into the book was immensely enjoyable for me, even though Anna went through serious trials.

Anna’s strengths come from her independence, her compassion, and her ambition. But she has always suffered from loneliness too. This story partly aims to explain why and how that loneliness took root. I find her to be a complicated soul with an epic story, one I look forward to fleshing out in subsequent books.

Note that both the paperback and ebook versions have a map and Anna’s full academy class schedule. Also, I hope you’ll consider sharing the launch on social media (or even sharing my Facebook post about it).

Thank you all for your amazing support over the years, and feel free to email me your thoughts when you’re done reading.

Enjoy the book!

All my best to you and those you love,

-Sever
P.S. Extra special thanks to the ART team, as well as the wonderful souls who participate on this website. You know who you are :)

You know her name . . .

I cannot tell you how excited I am to finally reveal the name of the book about Anna Atticus Stone’s origin story. In Prodigy of Thunder (Chronicles of Anna Atticus Stone, book 1), I explore Anna’s tumultuous relationship with her family, a family slowly destroyed by an ancient secret. There will be adventure, exploration of the Academy of Arcane Arts’s Shoptown, and plenty of arcanery. Above all, you will get to know Anna.

And she is ambitious and brave and reckless and kind and empathic and brilliant.

I’m on schedule to launch early December. Further, I’d like to proudly announce I signed a three-book audiobook deal with Podium. The book is currently in the casting phase, and you will not have to wait long for it to launch (three months or so?).

Hope you’ve been well,

Sever
P.S. Anyone will be able to read this saga, even if they have not read The Arinthian Line or Fury of a Rising Dragon, making it safe to give as a holiday gift.

An announcement about the next book

Legendary warlock Anna Atticus Stone walking up the stairs at the Academy of Arcane Arts

I have an announcement to make. After four months of work, I just finished the first draft of my tenth book.
And it’s about Anna Atticus Stone.

Can’t tell you how excited I am. She was an absolute joy to write. Very independent, much more so than Augum was. And she knows who she is and what she wants. I suspect you guys are going to love reading about her.

But Anna had a very tough childhood, and part of the book will deal with that. The rest showcases her first term attending the Academy of Arcane Arts. The book will also reveal what sort of person her vile sister was; Anna’s tumultuous relationship with her parents, who go through a divorce; and it will reveal her ambition, which will eventually result in her becoming the most brilliant warlock of all time.

The title shall be revealed in due course. Expected release date is December of this year.

And don’t worry, the trio shall return. I’ve just always wanted to write a piece of Anna’s story, a woman I’ve grown to know (and you’ve grown to love) as a hundred-year-old matriarch and legendary warlock.

This will tell how she began.

P.S. Some of you caught the hint I threw out on my last post, which showcased Anna’s Academy of Arts schedule. If you missed it, go back and have a peek.

Six years of publishing, two complete series’ spanning nine books, 1.73 million words, and one grand adventure.

Thank you to all my friends and readers for the amazing support over the years, as well as all the emails and messages. I’m a bit behind in answering but I’ll get there.

Hope you’ve been enjoying Champion’s Wrath :)

I will of course be starting a new book in January, but will not reveal its subject matter until later this year.

Happy holidays :)

✨Champion’s Wrath Cover + Blurb Reveal✨

Summoning dragons exacts a price. Can they afford to pay it?

Augum, Bridget and Leera are the first to summon dragons in thousands of years. But the ancient spell inflicts an unforeseen side effect—after every casting, it turns them against each other.

As the Canterran army plunders their kingdom, Katrina Von Edgeworth uses her siege engine dragon to crush all resistance. The trio, fledglings at fighting in the air, soon find themselves outmatched.

Now everything hangs by a thread and Augum, Bridget and Leera must somehow carve a path to victory—without gouging each other’s eyes out.

Little do they know the enemy is readying a deadly surprise.

* * *

Champion’s Wrath is the grand finale to the Fury of a Rising Dragon series. Also by Sever Bronny: The Arinthian Line series, the epic coming of age adventure that began it all.

I’m so excited to at last be able to share the cover and blurb with you guys. It’s been a long and emotional journey to get to this point, but we’re finally in the home stretch. So get ready to embark on another wondrous adventure with the trio, because it’s just around the corner!

All my best to you and those you love,

—Sever
P.S. ART: watch out for the email, it’s coming soon ;)

Quick update…

I don’t get to note many triumphs since I only publish once a year, but today was a good day. I wrote 9051 of the most inspired words in my life. The book is at a staggering 261,000 words, so I got some serious editing ahead. But at least I am nearly done. Another few days or so should do it.

Spent half the day sobbing like a child because of the emotional gravity of certain scenes. It’s the end of the epic Fury of a Rising Dragon series, so a lot is happening. I suspect you guys are really going to enjoy it.

Anyway, just wanted to share that. I’m a wreck and look forward to a good night’s rest for a change. I blew past a deadline for this book so it’s been stressing me out. I think I’ll be okay now, though. This is going to be one heck of a finale.

Hope you are all well. More to come in due course.

Rereading my own series on a sunny day #fantasy #youngadult #comingofage

I’m about 50,000 words from finishing the final book in the Fury of a Rising Dragon series, so I’m taking a break from writing to read over the series. This is something I also did with The Arinthian Line to ensure that all plot points get wrapped up. Don’t worry, this is factored into the writing timeline and we are still on schedule for a December launch. Taking extensive notes and enjoying the sunshine.

First draft of Book 3 (Fury of a Rising Dragon series) nearing completion.

I just passed 200,000 words in book 3 to the Fury of a Rising Dragon series (title to be announced). The book is rapidly nearing its conclusion—and it’s one epic conclusion. But it’s only one battle in a war, which means, you guessed it:

Yes, there will be a book 4!

The expected release date of book 3 is December of this year (2019).

Thank you for your patience and your continued support. Your letters and comments inspire me to give it my all with my writing.

I love this job.

Happy holidays from Augum, Bridget and Leera!

Buddha, the Arinthian house cat, treads on Burden’s Edge in search of a hidden treat.

Happy holidays! Four quick things:

#1. I’ve recently updated the site with new resources for readers, including Fury of a Rising Dragon series lore like Augum, Bridget and Leera’s school timetables, the Arcaner Code of Honor, a photos section, lists of spells and simuls etc. The big question now is, what sorts of things would you like to eventually see on the site? Reply to this post with any thoughts.

#2. Augum, Bridget and Leera are having a heck of a time in book three of Fury of a Rising Dragon, including attending their first official academy dance! Some old faces make a return in this book, as well as a venerable institution that’s been a favorite with you guys. The book is coming along swimmingly, and I cannot wait for you to delve into the adventure next year.

#3. If you know someone with a kindle who you think would enjoy The Arinthian Line, the ebook version of Arcane is on sale for $0.99 cents in the U.S. and the U.K for a short time. I’ve made a Facebook post announcing the sale on my author page in case you feel like sharing it.

#4. I’ve recently joined Instagram! You can follow me here (or just search for Sever Bronny).

Thoughts? Questions? Just reply back to this email. I read and try to respond to everyone :)

Meeting a reader

IMG_20171029_200343

The other day my wife and I met Claire, a fourteen-year-old fan of The Arinthian Line, as well as her wonderful parents, one of whom also read the books. Her mother told me Claire “fell in love with reading” because of the series.

I don’t get to meet readers often, but to meet one who began a grand adventure into the world of books because of my work . . . well, it was truly a special occasion.

Thank you Claire, Lembit and Melanie for reaching out :)

Legend (The Arinthian Line, book 5)

Are you ready for Augum, Bridget and Leera’s grand finale? I hope so, because Legend (The Arinthian Line, book 5) has officially released! Wow, I simply cannot believe I finally get to say that. I’ve been positively giddy with excitement in anticipation of this day.

The Arinthian Line spans almost a million words, has been years in the making, became an Amazon bestseller, and was the most challenging and rewarding undertaking of my life.

But this victory is not just mine—it is yours as well. You supported and encouraged me, and it meant a lot, more than you know.

“So where is it already?” I hear you asking. Legend can be found HERE on Amazon.

ADDITIONAL NEWS: Arcane (The Arinthian Line, book 1) will be on sale for only 99 cents until January 20th, so if you know anyone you think would enjoy the series, give them a heads up. :)

As to the paperback for Legend

all_five

…it should be up any time now on Amazon (if it’s not, you can order the paperback direct from the printer HERE). Sometimes it takes a few days for it to show up on on Amazon, so hang in there. :)

The book is so big (it’s 243,000 words, 20% longer than Clash) that it barely squeaked by the max of 740 paperback pages in length!

I cannot thank you enough for joining me on this epic journey. I’ll get to work on a new series as soon as possible (hints on that can be found in Legend). In the meantime, thank you from the bottom of my heart, and enjoy the book!
