After a year of writing and deep editing (all 100% human labor, by the way), I introduce to you my darling: Storms of the Ancients. Thank you for your amazing support that has allowed me to be a full-time author for over ten years now. The blurb:

A perilous ocean voyage.
A tempest older than empires.

Ten thousand slaves toil on a demon ship sailing into uncharted waters. One such wretch, unable to use her sorcery, is Bridget Burns. Mired in cutthroat survival, she fosters two allies: a terrified boy, and a gargoyle “cursed” with empathy.

Warlocks Augum and Leera, challenged by scheming crew, sail in pursuit. Their ship barrels toward a mythic storm no ship has ever breached. A storm hiding an ancient secret.

While Bridget must use her wits to keep herself and the boy alive, Augum and Leera must rally the crew to brave the maelstrom. All hope to discover what none have ever seen . . .

What lies beyond the storm.

A high-seas fantasy adventure set in the world of the epic bestselling sagas The Arinthian Line and Fury of a Rising Dragon and Chronicles of Anna Atticus Stone.

Audiobook coming in 2026.

Introducing Storms of the Ancients

A perilous ocean voyage.
A tempest older than empires.

Ten thousand slaves toil on a demon ship. One such wretch, unable to use her sorcery—let alone turn into a dragon—is Bridget Burns. Mired in cutthroat survival, she fosters two allies: a terrified boy and a gargoyle with a most undemonic trait—empathy.

Warlocks Augum and Leera, each embroiled in crew conflict, sail in pursuit. They barrel toward an impenetrable storm infested with leviathans. A storm hiding an ancient secret.

While Bridget must use her wits to keep herself and the boy alive, Augum and Leera must rally the crew before braving the maelstrom, all in the hopes of discovering what none have ever seen . . .

What awaits on the other side.

A high-seas fantasy adventure set in the world of the epic bestselling sagas The Arinthian Line,Fury of a Rising Dragon, and Chronicles of Anna Atticus Stone.

I’ve always wanted to write an epic ocean voyage, so to be able to do it with Augum, Bridget and Leera is extra special. And oh boy did I have a blast writing this one. There’s a lot that happens in the book, and aside from a high-seas adventure, you will get to experience an opening up of the trio’s world in an epic new way. Personal thoughts below:

After a year of work, I proudly present Whispers of Wrath (Arcane Legacy, book 1). I was challenged writing this book as I took on three points of view: Augum’s, Bridget’s, and Leera’s. Three twenty-year-olds with an incredible power at their finger tips—and incredible inner turmoil as a result of wielding that power.

This is the start of a new saga and a new skillset for me, one gleaned from writing from Augum’s POV, then Anna Atticus Stone’s POV, and now Bridget’s and Leera’s POV’s. I hope you have as much fun reading the book as I had writing it.

Thank you kindly for the support, and I hope you’ll consider leaving a review on Amazon when you finish, and even posting about Whispers of Wrath on social media. Thank you again :)

PERSONAL THOUGHTS FROM THE AUTHOR:
I cannot express how excited I am about Flames of Stone. The book, which clocked in around 225,000 words (about the same length as The Arcane Artist), delves into a crucial — and difficult — part of Anna’s midlife, one I was not sure I would have the courage to tackle.

But I did it. A year of solid work thus culminates in my twelfth(!) book, and the finale to this series. Although this book ends with Anna being fifty years of age, I wrote it in such a way that you can then jump right into Arcane, as everything else that happens between Anna turning fifty and Augum stepping into the picture is discussed in The Arinthian Line series.

I feel that this book—in fact the whole series about Anna—exemplifies the most impactful times of Anna’s life that led to her becoming who she is in The Arinthian Line, while still feeling fresh and new (I do not believe that you will feel like you’re reading a “prequel”).

Writing Flames of Stone was an emotional ride, one I am incredibly proud of completing. There will be some tear-jerking moments. But there will also be a lot of new revelations, namely who Augum’s grandfather was (and thus the Lord of the Legion’s father), with a big twist as to why no one except for Anna knows his identity.

And of course, you will read about loads of new spells, as well as already familiar spells that receive a lot more detail. You will delve into new world lore and pick up some hidden easter eggs that hark back to series 1 and 2. It is a robust book, and I hope a fulfilling one. It certainly was for me writing it.

Thank you for all your amazing support over the years. Much more to come, including illustrations, merchandise, and more on the trio, who I will be writing about next! You’ll hear from me again soon.

All my best to you and those you love, Sever,

—Sever

Anna book 2: Cover and blurb reveal + preorder

The Arcane Artist (Chronicles of Anna Atticus Stone, book 2) epic fantasy series ya fantasy young adult coming of age magic female protagonist girl hero warlock witch wizard adventure fun like

Warlock Anna Atticus Stone is on her final year at the academy. As head of student council, academic prodigy, and champion arena dueler, she seems the perfect pupil.

In reality, Anna is grieving, overwhelmed, and so lonely she talks to herself. Above all, she fears assassination if people find out her father’s dying gift to her was a scion. Only seven of these powerful artifacts exist, one in each kingdom—a precarious balance that maintains peace.

That peace shatters when a kingdom steals a second scion and invades its weaker neighbor. Anna feels compelled to act, but that would mean facing her crippling fears, a quest into the unforgiving wilds, and risking her kingdom becoming a target of war.

Driven by the memory of her father, she must find the one thing eluding her thus far . . . courage.

You know her name . . .

I cannot tell you how excited I am to finally reveal the name of the book about Anna Atticus Stone’s origin story. In Prodigy of Thunder (Chronicles of Anna Atticus Stone, book 1), I explore Anna’s tumultuous relationship with her family, a family slowly destroyed by an ancient secret. There will be adventure, exploration of the Academy of Arcane Arts’s Shoptown, and plenty of arcanery. Above all, you will get to know Anna.

And she is ambitious and brave and reckless and kind and empathic and brilliant.

I’m on schedule to launch early December. Further, I’d like to proudly announce I signed a three-book audiobook deal with Podium. The book is currently in the casting phase, and you will not have to wait long for it to launch (three months or so?).

Hope you’ve been well,

Sever

A peek behind the curtain

Finished writing book 3 recently, and now I’m rereading the first two books of the Fury of a Rising Dragon series in preparation for the first round of editing. It will go through numerous rounds of edits before release later this year

Reading my own books might seem strange but I find it to be an important part of the process. And yes I do laugh at my own jokes 😂 Currently at the scene where the trio and friends visit Olaf for the first time in “Castle Squalor”—Olaf’s house. It’s one of my favorites in Honor’s Price. Do you have a favorite scene in the book?

Happy holidays! Four quick things:

#1. I’ve recently updated the site with new resources for readers, including Fury of a Rising Dragon series lore like Augum, Bridget and Leera’s school timetables, the Arcaner Code of Honor, a photos section, lists of spells and simuls etc. The big question now is, what sorts of things would you like to eventually see on the site? Reply to this post with any thoughts.

#2. Augum, Bridget and Leera are having a heck of a time in book three of Fury of a Rising Dragon, including attending their first official academy dance! Some old faces make a return in this book, as well as a venerable institution that’s been a favorite with you guys. The book is coming along swimmingly, and I cannot wait for you to delve into the adventure next year.

#3. If you know someone with a kindle who you think would enjoy The Arinthian Line, the ebook version of Arcane is on sale for $0.99 cents in the U.S. and the U.K for a short time. I’ve made a Facebook post announcing the sale on my author page in case you feel like sharing it.
