  1. As a 30 something that loves the genre, I was amazed. I just finished Prodigy of Thunder. What do I read now that I have read all the books?! Impatiently awaiting the Dec 2022 release of Arcane Artist!

  2. I would like to thank you, I am dyslexic and since listening to audible books it has changed things a lot. I can across your your books and have loved listening to them. They truly have a fantastic story and so much going on.

  3. Just finished my second readthrough of your catalogue. Stopping by to check on the release date for Arcane Artist and say thanks for your hard work.

  4. I just finished the last line of Champion’s Wrath after reading, scratch that, devoring the whole Arinthian Line and Fury of a Rising Dragon saga. Wow. I started two month ago and just couldn’t put it down, and it has taken so much of my thoughts and dreams recently that I can scarcely believe it’s finished. I am an avid reader, but it’s been a long time since I have been that enthralled with a book! A thousand Thank You Sever for your amazing work! I came to this website hoping you planned to publish more, and here I discovered that an Anna Atticus Stone chronicle was to be released in a month: now that really feels like an early Christmas present. I. CAN’T. WAIT!!

PS: oh and please write soon the next adventures of our favorite Arcaners when they build back their prestigious order. 1 or 2 million words will suffice, thank you kind sir :)

    1. Thank you, Drawbridget! (Is your name a hint for me to hire someone to “draw” Bridget?) I’m going to crosspost your post to my reader mail page as it made me smile. I’m excited for you as well as you finished at a perfect time. We are mere days away from launching Anna’s story. Cannot tell you how ecstatic I am for everyone to read her triumphs and struggles. And oh did she suffer, the poor thing. But it made her who she becomes–a brilliant lioness.

And yes, I plan on returning to the trio in due course. For now, let us kick back and enjoy a bit of Anna’s story :)

      1. In your readers’ mail hall of fame? What a honor(‘s price)!
Please have mercy(‘s trial) and don’t keep us on (burden’s) edge before your next book. Else you might feel our (champion’s) wrath!!
        (Errr, just kidding of course)

So this was the explanation for Drawbridget: not an plea for a drawing, but the result of a cornelian dilemma for a bad pun-maker’s pseudo between Drawbridge, Bridgestone, Tower Bridge, Bridgeronimo… because Hedgehogum or Leerabbit just sounded so insulting to the characters! Besides, I liked the comparison with a drawbridge for Bridget: hard to get open, not letting many in, and slamming closed at the first sign of emotional danger…

On that philosophical note, as it’s Thanksgiving, please let me tell you again how grateful I am for your writing and talent!

          1. Dear Sever,
Can you believe that I forgot to leave to posterity my immensely relevant opinion on your first Anna book?? Well here it is (suspenseful music playing): it’s as awesome, fantastic, epic and utterly arcane as the rest of your work. Poor Anna though… I have sweated, cried and suffered with her all along. I hope her life improves somewhat, as I’m losing lifespan with each of her trials!!
Thank you again Sever for your amazing work, and your dedication to your characters – and readers. I hope Santa(nna) will bring book 2 under the Christmas tree…
The posterity comment was a joke as far as I’m concerned, but you on the other hand have achieved it with this masterpiece saga and rich fantasy world that will definitely cross the ages and spur creative minds for years to come. “Totally cruel”, as Academy students would say!!

  5. Champions Wrath was, correction is, the most amazing book series ever followed by arcane and then harry potter

  6. hey,i just wanted to say i am 10 years old and love to read. your books are the best i ever read and hope you keep the books coming.my live is pretty dule right now and reading is my favorite thing to do. just hope the story dosn’t end here.thank you your books are the best thing that ever happend to me

    1. Thank you, James, glad you’re enjoying my work. Did you have any favorite scenes yet? Any favorite characters?

Cheers, and good on you for loving reading as it opens up a bright future.

      1. My favorite character is augum because he is so powerful yet as human as you or me
Also hope you continue the trio’s story

  7. Hello Sever. (skip to end if short on time) First I want to say I truly enjoyed The Arinthian Line and the first 2 of FoaRD. Your books are among my favorite of all time, and I wait impatiently for each new one to come out. Kindle actually didn’t tell me you finally released Mercy’s Trial, and I just found it and was shocked and pleased and pissed at kindle. Hah.
I never re-read books.. It just seems like a waste of time when there’s still a million books I haven’t read.. but my memory isn’t the greatest, and it’s been a year since I was engrossed in the series and I’ve forgotten too much. sigh. I always just trudge through and hope it all comes back to me when I read a new book in a series, since I’m usually waiting on dozens of series’ to finish- which I kind of hate- wish they’d all come out at once, but I don’t blame you for this.! Anyway, I actually decided to reread FoaRD at least before I read the latest one because I’ve enjoyed this world a lot and don’t want to half experience each book like usual when I wait years for series’ to finish. sigh. So, wanted you to know that I’ve yet to re-read a fictional novel and yours is the first in 20 years. Not even Harry Potter or LoTR that I read almost 20 yrs ago and always said I’d re-read. (But granted I barely started and may yet stop or skim.. idk)

*But I digress, the real reason for my message is that I need to know how many books will be in this series, or just approximately how many more, so that maybe I wait to read these books until the next one comes out.. ?? (because re-reading books is a big deal for me)
    Thank you so much

    1. Hiyas Steve!

I’m deeply honored that I’m the first author you have reread, especially considering that includes Rowling.

I am hoping to wrap the FoaRD series up in four books, but cannot guarantee that at least until I finish the first draft, which will still be a few months (wish me luck!).

And I wish I was a faster writer and there was more time, but alas, we can only work with what we have.

      1. Hmm, I replied to you the next day, but it looks like it didn’t take..
I’m certainly not trying to rush you! A great book is worth the wait and you surely aren’t slow like some other authors. Forgive me for expressing that bit of discontent here at other authors because you certainly don’t deserve that.
I’m just grateful you’re still writing more and have continued with the story!

Thank you for the update. So far I have held off reading Mercy’s Trial, even though I very much want to get back into the story. I rarely do this. I’m generally just hopping from series to series as the latest book comes out and throwing in new ones (preferably finished) whenever there’s time, but so far I’m set on waiting until the last book comes out, and then I’ll start fresh.
FoaRD I can tell is going to be epic, the first two were amazing and set up an even better story to come. I’m definitely looking forward to it. I’m still hoping Augum gets a new scion!
Best of Luck! if luck is involved. Perhaps in regards to creativity and smooth process and .. other things that goes into writing an epic saga. :) But I trust your genius to figure it all out and blow us away.
        Cheers Sever!

      2. Thank you so much, Asclepius. And oh boy do you have some surprises ahead with FoaRD! I look forward to hearing your thoughts. I’ll just say this: the adventure gets more and more intense with each book.

Thank you again for the well-wishes :)

  8. Ever since stumbling across Arcane in my suggested books pile, I’ve been hooked. I Just finished Mercy’s Trial yesterday and i’m still hooked. Thank you for the early Christmas gift. Can’t wait for the next step in the trio’s journey. No pressure though. lol

    1. Thank you so much, Michael, and glad you’re enjoying my work! So just off the top of your head, out of all the books, which particular scenes are your favorite? And did you have any favs in Mercy’s Trial?

  9. Cant wait for book 3 of the dragon series
Hopefully it will be out before my birthday in December

    1. The story in Arcane takes place in the year 3342, though the approximate era in our human history terms is the mid-medieval ages, prior to the invention of gunpowder, clocks, and other similar devices and advancements.

  10. I really liked your books, they were great and I can’t wait for the next one, but there are some errors in them like in one of them you said Bridget Jones instead of Bridget Burns, and could you maybe try to keep the tense the same? In one case you said “When will he ever stop?” which should have been “When would he ever stop” or “When was he ever going to stop?” since the book is written in past tense. Other than that they were great and I really loved them. Hope the next one comes out soon! (and happy late new year!)

    1. Thank you for the errata report, I’ll look into it and get the fixes ready for the next version. Do you remember which book you saw the mention of “Bridget Jones” in? I did a search through all the works and cannot find it (I may have already tackled that error though).

    1. Looking like late this year (2019). It’s a big, complex book, so has a ways to go still in terms of structuring and editing. As of this writing, I’m 140,000 words in of a projected 200,000-240,000.

  11. Thank you….just…thank you! I’ve read everything up to Honors Price in 2 weeks. It’s good to feel completely drawn into a series again, something I haven’t been able to do in a long time. I hope and expect to be reading about the trio for a long time to come!!

    1. Thank you so much, Jordan :D

After taking two weeks for Xmas break, I am excited to continue working on book three again.

Any favorite characters and scenes thus far?

      1. How did I miss that question you left me?! LOL

        Without leaving spoilers…

My favorite character is a certain “Grizzled” instructor/military strategist our trio is introduced to in Fury of a Rising Dragon. I love the build up and dynamic of his relationship with the trio and how it plays out.

Favorite scene: The Tournament = final showdown! How do you even top that!?!

    1. Apologies for the late reply; just got back from Xmas break.

The third book (as yet untitled; Champion’s Wrath will be the final book in the series and it looks like this one will be running longer than a trilogy) is about halfway complete at this time. Expect it late this year (2019) :)

  12. I have a question. It might seem rude though.

How do I know you’re actually Sever Bronny, and not some person pretending to be him?

    1. Now that’s a rather odd question. I think you mean someone else might be handling the account on my behalf, perhaps a manager etc? I can assure you it’s me–I handle my own social media because I want to be connected to my readers :)

  13. you could name the book Locked in War, Dragon Dreams or Taking Flight…

PS: those are just suggestions. I won’t be mad if you don’t use them

    1. Probably late 2019, but it’s hard to say. I’m already 30,000 words into it, but will be reassessing and reediting the portion before I continue with it :)

  14. I really loved the Arinthian Line!! I actually came across Burden’s Edge first and read that one, as that one popped up as recommended, but I was so lost reading that book. I felt there are a lot of references that I feel I should have been informed about. Only to later realize that it’s set after the Arinthian Line. Which I immediately picked up and devoured. SSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOO GGGGFOOOOODDDDDD!!!!! I loved the characters and story. I’m a bit of a action/adventure mixed with love/romance fantasy junkie and this was right up my alley. Couldnt put any if them down. I am eager to read more of your work!!!!

  15. Books were great. I read them all in a week, including Burden’s Edge. I even got my sister, who doesn’t really like to read, to read them. I wish I could jump into the books and join the story. It’s probably MUCH more fun then going to school. When is the next one coming out? hope it’s soon.

P.S.: Why do you do this: :) at almost every reply?

    1. Looks like the next one will be out within a couple months.

I get to live in that world for my day job and thus consider myself one of the luckiest people alive. I love all the characters and I love building and exploring the world, and I have a grand vision for its future.

As to why the constant :) it’s mostly an old habit meant to show kindness and a smile :)

Thanks for reading and getting in contact!

  16. I really liked all books. Just finished Burden’s Edge. When is the one after coming out?

    1. Honor’s Price (Fury of a Rising Dragon, book two) will likely launch within a couple months, depending on a few final factors. It’s a huge and complicated book, but fulfilling :)

Glad you’re enjoying the adventure :)

  17. I just read the whole series in 2 weeks, and it was so good! At the end of Legend it said that another trilogy was coming, but I couldn’t find anything about it. Is the next series being worked on right now?

    1. I just read that the trilogy is called fury of a rising dragon or something like that, downloading now!

  18. I just wanted to say that my 10 and 13-year-old boys are devouring this series. Now I have to read them myself! Thank you for writing exciting and involved novels that children as well as adults can read. There is so much junk out there, we need more authors like you!

    1. That’s wonderful that they’re devouring the series, Rita. And I look forward to hearing your thoughts too when you dip your feet into the adventure. Please give the kids my best wishes,

      Sever

  19. You have no idea how happy your answer to the previous comment just made me:D I finished BE…well… a few minutes ago with a bittersweet feeling, knowing I’d have to wait for god knows how long for the next part.
It will be hard (harder than the trio’s journey probably), but I might be able to survive until summer-ish!…As long as you’re not pulling a G.R.R.M on us.
Thanks for throwing me back into the fantasy genre!:)

PS: I’ll have you know, that I’m dumping the fault on my recent university-grades struggles on you. Shame on you for writing such a fantastic series! (Kidding)

    Greetings from Austria

  20. I’m about to start Valor – great series!! Are there anything plans for Audible books beyond Arcane? I’d love to listen while I’m at work.

    1. Thank you, glad you’re enjoying my work :)

Yes, talks are in the works for the rest of the series to be concluded in audiobook format (audiobooks are expensive to produce). Hopefully it will happen :)

  21. Sever I have read the first four books and am in progress of reading the fifth, and I was wondering if you would ever see the series becoming a film or set of films?

    1. Hello Alfie :)

I wrote them with a movie franchise in mind in the first place, without the expectation of it ever actually becoming one as it’s highly unlikely in this business a book gets turned into a movie. That said, in my mind’s eye Mrs. Stone I already cast Judi Dench as Anna Atticus Stone :)

      1. It would be my dream come true if it became a movie franchise :) I love the way you write and I’m taking my English Literature GCSE a year early and your books have definitely helped expand my vocabulary and improve my grades <3

      2. I’m very flattered, thank you, Alfie :) And it would certainly be a dream come true for me too, hehe :) but I’m more than happy simply being able to make a living from writing. After all, I get to live in the trio’s world for my day job! :D

  22. Sever,
My husband and I recently (September 2016) took in 3 siblings as foster children. The oldest, who is 11 loves to read, the younger two, 9 and 7, not as much. I am an avid reader, and was hoping to inspire them to read. I stumbled across your book, Arcane, on Amazon. We started reading it. A chapter or two each night (as long as I can stay awake to read out loud!). They LOVED it, and beg for me to keep reading. After finishing Arcane, I offered to look for something different, but they wanted to proceed with the series. This past weekend we finished Riven, and launched directly into Valor. We are looking forward to the Augum’s adventures each evening. Thank you so much for writing such a delightful and exciting series. Hopefully, your books will inspire their imaginations and create three life-long readers. It is wonderful to read something to them that we are all four engaged in. Definitely a series that reaches out across the generations and appeals to all of us!

    1. This is very touching, Lisa, I’m kind of speechless. It’s wonderful to hear from someone who took in three kids. Major kudos to you and your hubby. And how wonderful to get them hooked on books! What adventures await them in that magical world of the imagination! I am honored to play a part, and cannot wait to hear all about what they think of the trouble the trio get into in Valor, Clash and Legend :)

Please keep me posted (feel free to email me via the contact page too).

All my best to you and your family,

      Sever

  23. Well, here it is, nearly mid-January. When will this interminable wait be over?!? But, seriously, I love your series so much I will actually read the next book out of order on my book list! You have a very clever imagination and a great talent. Congratulations on this great success.
    Kim

    1. Funny that you mention the date, because Legend launches tomorrow :)

I hope you reconsider reading the book out-of-order; don’t want you to miss certain interesting plot twists that line up a certain way. But it’s your call :)

Thank you for reading and enjoying, Kim!

  24. Just when I thought I wouldn’t find another “school of magic” themed book that wasn’t a blatant rip-off of a certain boy wizard….along comes Arcane. In this, you have taken a commonly-used subject (special kid gets accepted to wizard school!) and made it decidedly UNcommon. I love the unique way you imagine your magic–excuse me, arcanery. I love the detailed descriptions of the TEACHING we are seeing. In many magic-school books, how the magic is actually taught and learned is glossed over. You make it so much more realistic when we see Augum, Bridget, and Leera struggling to understand and apply concepts. And then you weave in a great adventure along the way. Thank you for this wonderful breath of fresh air. I am currently in the midst of Valor and enjoying the story immensely.

    1. I’m very happy you’re enjoying the series, Jen, thank you for dropping by and leaving a note! And you’re just in time to catch the launch of the final book in the series too :) (Very early Jan)

      1. Yes, I just finished Clash, and it was amazing. My heart was actually pounding in nervous anticipation as Augum went up against Robin at the end. I LOVED the labyrinth and the competition. So exciting and it really drew me in. I’m glad I picked these up when I did- now I don’t have to wait as long for the (I’m sure it will be) epic conclusion! Keep up the good work!
        -Jen

  25. I bought the first book for my 12 year old son and he tore though it in a day. I promptly ordered the next 3 in the series. He absolutely loves this series. I cannot wait to read it myself.

  26. I finished the fourth book last night, and I already feel like life has no meaning anymore (well until the next book comes out that is 😛)

  27. Hi Sever, I enjoyed the first book, but was wondering when will the next books come out in audio Format.

    1. Hello, Alex :)

Glad you enjoyed it. Audiobooks are quite the production, so it’s hard to say when it’s going to happen. I’m sorry, wish I had more news than that :(

  28. I am a disabled veteran and am constantly looking for ways to entertain myself. I lost both legs to an iad, my life now is one disapontment after another, after reading hundreds of books it becomes monotonous. I read all four books in this series in three days, a perpetual smile plastered to my face, happiness is priceless and I gladly give both arms to live in this moment forever. You provided a much needed break from reality, one in which I experienced hope, love, bravery, and triumph for the first time in many years, I dare say it rejuvenated a new will to live long lost. For that I am forever grateful Sir Bronny. I would love to know if you had an estimate for your next release.

    1. Hello Ross. Your letter made its mark. I don’t know what to say really, except … thank you. It meant a lot to me. I’m going to print it out and keep it nearby, so that if I ever start feeling lazy or tired about writing, I’ll read it and find the strength to write on, knowing the story makes a difference.

I am working on book 5 now. I hope to have it done and released within four to five months, give or take. But I’ve got nothing to distract me really–I’ll be working on it almost daily. Nose to the grindstone, that kind of thing.

I’ll have you in my thoughts. Oh and please email me at
      severbronny@gmail.com sometime.

  29. Really enjoyed your first two books and read them both in less than a week, waiting for book three with anticipation. And I agree with Stephen in hoping Augum comes into his own and gets all his stripes soon :-)

    1. Don’t know how I missed this comment. I usually respond to everything. My apologies, Edwina. Thank you for reading. One of Augum’s challenges is fighting beyond his strength (something detailed in book 4). But his rewards … well, you’ll get to see for yourself :)

  30. Really liked the first two books! Can’t wait for the third. Story is compelling and well paced and I hated reaching the last page! Would like to see augum come into his own and advance a little more rapidly! Thanks for the vicarious interlude into another realm!

    1. Thank you so much, Stephen :)

      Augum’s definitely due, isn’t he?

The third book is complete and undergoing editing. Can’t wait to release it :)

  31. enjoyed reading arcane. hope the wait for the sequels are not tooo long. i really like the way you write the story. well done!

    1. Cant wait for next book hope it is going well and good luck continuing the series .

  32. 5 stars for arcane! A bit shorter than I usually like and a might slow but I think its a solid base for book two which I’ll be keeping an eye open for. Goodonya!!
